Distinction

After passing the Bronze Medalion, which does require a huge amount of hard work and dedication, the next step is the Distinction.

This is the highest achievement within the National Lifesaving Academy award program and is awarded to those who achieve any Bronze Medallion award and also attain an assistant/Instructor award or completes a minimum of 30 hours of volunteering or work experience relevant to lifesaving.

Assistant Instructor Course

As a Distinction candidate, you will have the opportunity to attend an Assistant Lifesaving Instructor course, which is a nationally recognised award, fully paid for by the club. This qualification will then allow you to support the teaching of the club and disseminate the skills you have learnt throughout your time at the club to younger members.

RLSS Young Leaders

This program consists of practical and theory sessions intended to allow you to develop your leadership skills. The training will give you the skills to plan and deliver practical training to the wider community in water safety, first aid and CPR.
